What is the difference

The difference between boat rental and boat hire.

On the face of it nothing, you pay a sum on money each week/month to use something for that period that you do not own.

However, "Rental" tends to mean longer term.....generally!!!

You HIRE a car for a week, your HIRE a boat for a week, you HIRE some tools from the Hire Shop for a week....and so on

You RENT a house to live in for......well six months or so.

THEREFORE

HIRE on this web site applies to short term usage of the boat whereas RENTAL refers to longer term usage.

There is a third option, SHARING, where a group of people get together and buy the boat and then share the usage between them.

It works very well. This is covered on our sister web site, boatshare.co.uk
